Cary Martial Arts Students Each Perform 10 Acts of Kindness
JMA Students are performing Acts of Kindness in order to earn their Community Stripes. This works out to thousands of acts of kindness. Since 2006, training at Johnson's Martial Arts has entailed lessons beyond the punch and kick. Our instructors understand that with great power comes the responsibility to practice discretion making violence the last resort. Using diplomacy and deescalating language is more important than being able to physically fight. This is why a martial arts program must involve character building and leadership training.
Did you know that Kindness spreads? We're so happy to be part of a martial arts community that teaches character values such as courtesy and friendship.
Here are some examples of age-appropriate acts of kindness that our martial arts kids can perform to spread positivity and develop empathy (with a parent's permission of course):

Make a card for a friend, teacher, or family member.
Share toys with siblings or friends.
Help with chores like picking up toys or setting the table.
Feed pets or water plants.

Donate old toys to charity.
Draw pictures for neighbors or community helpers (police, firefighters).
For Older Kids (Ages 8-12):
Help a classmate with homework or schoolwork.
Bake treats and deliver them to neighbors or family friends.
Write thank-you notes to teachers or coaches.

Raise funds for a cause they care about (through a bake sale, lemonade stand).
