5k run for the animals sponsored by 16 year old martial arts student Jessica Stober
NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARCH 1, 2010 Cary, NC – JOHNSON’S TAE KWON DO ACADEMY TALKS THE TALK AND WALKS THE WALK. LITERALLY. Jessica Stober, a 16 year old Junior at Green Hope High School and a 3rd Degree Black Belt Instructor along with Johnson’s Tae Kwon Do Academy are sponsoring a 5K Run to benefit the World Wildlife Federation this spring. When asked why she chose the World Wildlife Federation for her Leadership Project, Stober said “It is sad that so many of our magnificent creatures will not be alive 10, 20 or 30 years from now…we must take action, we must “Run for Their Lives”. Indeed, that is the name of the event that will take place on April 24, 2010 at the Wake Med Soccer Park: “Run For Their Lives”. Mr. Johnson commended Ms. Stober’s effort by saying “not only is community service required for our Leadership Programs... but volunteer service helps us match what we say with what we do and makes a strong statement to our communities.” Mrs. Johnson added that, "Martial Arts has in its history the emphasis on personal development, life skills, and public service.
